This application is designed to assist users in interpreting dermoscopic patterns observed through their dermatoscope. Users will go through a series of questions aiming to lead them to the most probable diagnosis. The app includes over 80 photos and charts to aid in diagnosis, and it can be used offline for quick image and information retrieval.
Furthermore, it features 50 interactive cases for users to solve, each presenting clinical and dermoscopic images, with labeled dermoscopic images highlighting critical structures at the end.
Utilizing the 2-step algorithm, the app first determines if a lesion is melanocytic, categorizing them into nevi or suspicious lesions for melanoma based on specific patterns. Non-melanocytic lesions are analyzed for signs of basal cell carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma. Common benign lesions are also identified to prevent unnecessary biopsies. By enhancing the accuracy of skin cancer detection, this app aims to reduce unnecessary biopsies and improve early detection of melanomas and nonmelanoma skin cancers.
